👤 Who’s Behind This Site?

I’m Paul D. Hollomon. I have over 10 years of experience analyzing cloud infrastructure and AI trends. Before launching ExplainThisTech, I led technical content teams for a global cloud consultancy, helping Fortune 500 companies navigate cloud migration and AI adoption.

I created this site because I saw a huge gap between tech experts and everyday people. Most tech articles are written by experts for experts — and everyone else gets left behind. I wanted to change that.

📜 Credentials & Experience

🎓 B.S. in Information Systems — University of Texas at Austin

☁️ AWS AWS Solutions Architect — Certified

☁️ GCP Google Cloud Digital Leader — Certified

🔬 Key Research Areas
I’ve extensively researched AI supply chains, semiconductor economics, and cloud infrastructure constraints — topics I break down in my articles for everyday readers.

My work has been cited by industry analysts at IDC and Gartner, and I’ve spoken at technology conferences on AI infrastructure constraints and the economics of inference.

Paul’s philosophy: “Most people don’t need more how‑to guides. They need trustworthy explanations of why technologies behave the way they do. That’s what I build here.”

When not writing, I study energy grids, semiconductor supply chains, and tinker with home‑lab Kubernetes clusters. I live in Austin, Texas.

💎 Our Writing Principles

📊 Data‑Driven Every claim is backed by reputable sources — J.P. Morgan, IDC, SemiAnalysis, academic research, and official reports.
🗣️ Plain English You don’t need a computer science degree to understand our articles. We explain every technical term.
🚫 No Fluff We get to the point. Long enough to be thorough, short enough to hold your attention.
🌿 Evergreen + Timely We write foundational explainers that last, plus timely analysis of breaking news.
